Another all-island black-out courtesy of JPSCo after 5am this morning…..Funny the last time this happened was almost one year ago (July 14 or 15th I think). Last one was blamed on a lightning strike and required a commission of enquiry into finding out the reason…wonder what this one will end up being…all we hear so far is “problems” at the Old Harbour plant……We see what the casuse was at 2:48pm they say 80% of the island has been restored.
To give credit, there really hasnt been that many power cuts in the past year, although I have noticed a few since the start of the “summer” I guess maybe extra load on the system due to use of air conditioning units from homes, cause so far the summer is looking like it is gonna be a torcher……

yup already feeling the heat. maybe this is their yearly pre summer black out. did n’t get to do anywork today

So were places closed for the day? Was the traffic really bad? I am assuming the traffic lights were out of commission too right?

@fiyah The reports are that some places were closed for the day while others had their genrators running…..Luckily for me the major traffic lights i went thru were manned by police from early…but i am sure there were a lot that must have been congested…Some areas had no water either as thier water supplu depend on electricity..Today we have eben having load sheding in certain areas so alas it is another day with period of no light!!!!

If me talk is just a whole lot of $#%^&**%$#*(*&^&$#@#% yuh going to hear ….no light whole day and thank god fi mi tamk or it would be no water too …..them likkle ###***%#… cho.

lol I woke up and looked at the fan.. it was off.
its a good thing the place is cool at that time of the morning. My power came back at home shortly after 8am though.

I’m glad I wasn’t in Ja when the power cut occurred, because I woulda certainly bun up inna my hot apartment and if I was at work I would certainly die from stress! Hmm, I too wonder what the excuse will be this time.
