Bwoy, i just cant seem to find the time to blog now-a-days……..and no, it is not that i am soooooooooo busy….I guess Facebook has taken up most of my attention so the blogging thing get lef….I do miss it though…..and miss keeping up on what is happening in the life of the bloggers i used to read daily….religiously……so even if i dont blog, from now on i will ensure that i check in with my blogroll more often…….(although a quick glance earlier showed me that i am not the only one with a “leave of absence’)

Ok, two games that have me totally hooked on facebook, Mastermind and Scrabble ok, ok, ok…i know the they sound geeky, but they have me totally hooked, everyone will be familiar with scrabble, but mastermind is a really cool game for the ones who like a challenge…i had the game when i was a kid so it was great to find the online version…..So all of you on facebook if you are interested….Come Challenge Me!!!!!!!!! not u Bobby, ah tired to buss ur A$$…..JOKE *whispering* i buss his in scrabble, he busses mine in mastermind). My only critisicm on facebook is the spaming effect when you take most of the tests and quizzes….before you can get ur results u have to forward to a million people first…..i have stopped doing them (although you dont know it is like that until after you have finished the tests…..it is a royal pain in the Butt……..and becasue of that i dont know what colour i am or what cartoon character i am or my sexual fantasy or for that matter a whole host of other things….becasue i refuse to spam people to get the results…..MB commented on it in this post

I started a new job (Still with the same company), so i am in the process of learning new things. Felt like a fish without water the first couple weeks, but with each passing day i am begingin to feel a little like i am on solid ground…..

Two weeks ago i carried my dad to a nursing home…..this was the hardest thing i have done in a long ….long ….long time…….Truth be told I bawled when i went to Mandeville (that where my parents live) to get him… and i haven’t bawled in years upon years upon years…(cant believe i am publicly admitting this)….for months i fought with my mom about the decision to place him there, wishing that i had the space at my home to take him to live with me……but after 2 weeks of him being there i now believe that it is the best place for him……He actually looks a whole lot better……I cant wait to see what other changes 2 more weeks will bring……I now look at it like he is in a hospital getting specialised care…….I guess not all nursing homes are bad……

Anyway, duty calls again….helping my son to study for exams, so i need to go take him up on some questions and learn a thing or two myself in the process……..

Man, It has been a while, November 9th was the last post i have done…..and trust me it is not that my life has suddenly gotten super interesting and exciting which resulted in my not posting….i guess ah so life so…….Maybe I should blame it on Facebook!

Well, since November 9th, i went to ATL for thanksgiving and saw a live comedy show at the FOX theater with Damon Wayans, Tommy Davidson and David Alan Grier (not sure bout the spellings) but that was really cool….Went to a party there (everybody should see stuff like this at least once in life), but unfortunalty cant say much more on that (to borrow the Vegas quote…..what happens in ATL stays in ATL)…..

Also i went to a 40th birthday party that 4 girls who have thier 40th birthday in Decmeber put on….This was wicked……I saw friends i have not seen in YEARS like 25 years ago….it is funny we joked about if we dont see each otehr for another 25 yrs then by that time we will be 65 (EGAD) frightening isnt it, it was great though as these are people i have grown up with and it was really special to sit and talk about old times as well as catching up on what everyone is doing with their lives now…Hopefully facebook will help the next 25 years to go by with more contact……

The rest of the season lowkeyed, apart from a few office parties and the wedding of a GOOD GOOD friend of mine, East Fest, and Giants of the 90’s, i pretty much have nothing else planned…….no New Years Eve PArty yet!!!!Might just be bedrock!

Other than that, life is same old same old….The Christmas season is very much here but somehow seems very low keyed to me this year…..Usually i would have all the presents already bought, but other than a few (and by that i mean 2) i have no other present under my tree!!!! I had bought for my son and of course he found them (big mistake was telling him that i had bought it) so nothing under the tree for him yet!!!! At least i have a tree….. Anyway is only kids get presents from me now-a-days, so i may just hand them an envelope and tell them to go buy whatever they want…..they may prefer that anyway, but it might end up costing me more….funny story with the Chirstmas pudding that i had sworn i wasnt gonna bake this year…Anyway my mom begged (she no longer bakes and depends on me to giver her her supply of cake to give away for the season, anyway she begs so two days ago i decided ok…got all the ingredients and was ready last nite to bake…..start creaming the butter and sugar, weighed out the bread crumbs and flour, and reachign for the fruits which should have been soaking since last year only to find ….NO FRUITS!!!! so at 9 o’clock last nite i had to rush out to Mega-mart and buy fruits, come home, blend them and steam them and wake up at 6this morning to finish baking!!!!…i havent tasted it yet as i left it in the oven this moroning and rushed to work…. so, lets hope it was all worth it….

Yoga is still going good, i am happy that i have started this, just paid again for another 8 classes so it will be around for a while…..

Anyway, off to start to catch up as it has been a while since i have read my blogroll peeps….

It turns out that i may just have found a relative with my exact name!!!!! What are the odds…… A couple days ago i got an msg from a person with my name on Facebook…..

After some investigations…..it turns out that we may indeed be from the same stock…..We will be doing some more investigations into the matter…….We are both married, but our birth names are the same!!!! And i am the younger one so is not even me did have the name first!!!! (although i was named by my maternal uncle, so that even makes the coincidences greater)

This brings me to an idea that i have been mulling around in my head for a while…..genealogy research on both of my parents……I am now even more pumped to do it….I hear it cost $600/hour at the RGD to do but i shudder each time i think about how long that office takes to do anything…. Seriously though, it would be interesting to see just where my and how firmly my roots are planted…. For instance i know from work previously done by some relatives..my mothers roots are from a clan in Scotland….. and saw a Family crest that they have.

I will definitely check it out locally though, …or maybe explore to see if i can apply for it online……More on this later………

NAMASTE

On Tuesday I went to my very first yoga class…..

Now all the background info i had on yoga was that it is supposed to be relaxing and will allow for some serious flexibility…..i had even gone as far as to order a dvd online, but always seemed to find one reason or another why i had no time to do it…….Anyway the rains have been pelting JA, which has virtually stopped my exercise program as i walk/ run in the great outdoors…..so last Sunday after feeling really guilty about not working out (or maybe it was the extra pounds that has been creeping on) i popped the dvd in and decided to start my yoga’ing…….now it was hard because the moves are a bit technical and trying to do it while following the tape was a challenge…but it revived my interest in actually trying it in the proper environment…so come Monday morning…as i reached the office…I called the gym……which i have been passing every morning on the way to work….to find out about their yoga program and off i went the next day (with a friend of mine from the office as company) to my very first class……..

Now the instructor, a young male (with a tramp stamp - a word i learned from SE) , mmmmhhhmmmmm…i will say no more on that….seems like a very cool guy and def he knew his stuff, his body contorts in such a way that made me wonder with much interest, what his sex life must be like………but if i can get my body to be limber like that !!!!!! WOW!!!!!! Anyway he has been doing yoga only for 4 years now so i guess there is hope for me reaching that level of flexibilty…….

It was one of the most therapeutic things i have done…there was one pose (he calls it the cure all pose, of ocurse i dont remember all the yoga names yet) that i seriously felt like drifting off to sleep…….I stretched and pulled and twist and turn like i have never done before ( and it was an introductory session because everyone was basically new to yoga)….the next day i realised that i had some muscles that i never knew existed…..

Anyway I had only paid for that one session at the time…. today i will go back and pay for the month!!!! we will see what happens after that!!!!!

NAMASTE ( this means the spirit in you, honors the spirit in me….or something like that…i will listen more keenly next time…this is said at the end of every class) I think i will end my posts with this word from now on!!!!!

PS….During the session, the friend who had come with me almost passed out!!!!!! She blamed it on not eating much that day, i blame it on the yoga!!!!!!

Everyday it is that the MET has extended the flash flood warnings until 5pm…then when that time comes you hear it is extended again…….The rains have totally messed up my exercise program this week….and my snacking habits during this period has not helped!

Anyway under work pressure…….just needed to vent that!

About those Church Hymns

A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said “Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach. Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind.” The pastor shouted out “CROSS.”

Over the last two days, I have been watching CNN keenly to keep up-to-date on the fires raging there…..The news has reported that it has been the largest evacuation ever in the US with almost 1 million persons being ordered out of their homes

When I first heard about it …It was Malibu that was reported and even though i watched it was more just for information on whats is happening out there in the world….then two nights ago i was reading about it on the CNN’s website and saw that San Diego was threatened….I immediately jumped on my phone and called as I have a very close friend (she used to be my neighbour when i was in high school) who lives there with her hubby, 3 kids and a dog!

Got her voice mail on my first attempt………..then called back after about 2 hours…….only to hear she was packing up all the important papers and items and keeping them near the door waiting on the word from officials to evacuate……at that time the fire was about 20 miles from her house….She said she only got trophy’s from the kids dancing and their costumes, the important papers, but said when she looked around the house she didn’t bother packing a lot of the other stuff saying to herself….”those can be replaced”

All of a sudden the whole thing became very real to me…..Can you imagine…..and i thought, what would i save in my house if I was faced with having to evacuate (would i be trying to take down the TV hanging on the wall…the stove…fridge…etc etc or would i simply just put the passport/birth certificate in, all my kids school reports from they hit school, the ribbons they have won in sports day..the box which has the little mothers day/fathers day cards they make in pre-school, etc etc….when you really stop what is important for us to save????? (this reminds me to get the contents of my house insured)

Anyway praying that all goes well for her and others affected…up-to-late night, she was still at home but they have been told to stay indoors, she could see the smoke and ash fallout from the fires so the air quality is bad…… Havent spoken to her since morning(they are 3 hours behind) but the wind seem to be dying down…so hopefully that is some good news

Got this recently and had to share it

Doesn’t the statue seem like she enjoying this a little to much…Don’t blame the baby after all, it sure looks like food! But seriously see how the boys start from early, i bet a girl baby wudn’t have done this

To go or not go! I hadn’t even read the report that was discussing whether or not to support Jah Cure by going to his show considering that he was convicted for rape until i saw Madbulls post on this. Not that i condone criminality but let us assume that he has regretted the act and learnt his lesson (that is if he did it as there was talk that it wasn’t rape….but that is a whole other post) ….performing is how he makes his living….should we therefore stop someones ability to earn when he re-enters society after serving time, what would that do to our society???? …but i wonder if it was my daughter/sister/friend that was raped…..i guess the feelings would depend on which side of the coin one is sitting….Now onto the show itself………

I got there about 9:30 ish feeling GREAT!!!!! about the night because I had just taken several pictures with Taurus Riley (you all know who he is as he was staying at the same hotel that i was at) For all I care I didn’t need to even go to the show again …..Anyway when we (my girlfriend and her sister who were here covering (yeah right) the show from ATL) got there the new upcoming (translation - no name artists) were performing on stage…….Now my biggest problem with shows like this, is they spend sooooooo much time introducing these no-namer, and trust me, i understand that is how they have to be introduced….but instead of giving them 1/2hr each, how about 10 minutes of time….people don’t pay their money to come and see them……anyway they threw in a few people during that time, Junior X, our big rising star Chris Martin (who looks like he has been working out a bit), Bling dog…..There was one artist (don’t memba the name) who came out in his full cricket gear……bat and all….i guess since we were in the stadium in Trelawny which was built and used for Cricket world cup…..Anyway, the first “big name” artist/group, Morgan Heritage came on at about 3:30 and performed for 20 min……let me tell you the people were climbing over and through the rails which separated the VIP/backstage area, why we must stay so??…..Yes people i was backstage so up was right up under the stage and Stunner/Bobby, I left my camera at the hotel but i shud be getting some pictures/video clips later this week and will add them to the post then….After Morgan Heritage, who got a good 20 mintutes of performance they packed in all the big name performers between 4am and 7am, so imagine Junior Reid, Queen Ifrica, Coco tea, Cecile, Fantan Moja, Capelton (with matching shoes and dress), Little Hero, Richie Stephens, Gyptian, Richie Spice, Chuck Fender, TAURUS RILEY (he performed for about 9 minutes he came on at 5:40am, bwoy i really have a problem with this man don’t I, he has a gorgeous smile and a very nice personality, like i know him….), Wayne Marshall, Ninja man, I-Wayne, Bounty, Sizzla and nuff others….There was no Beres although he was billed to be there…..he was at the same hotel i was at though….but i digress……So you see, i don’t think we heard one good song from anyone of them, just pieces and nuff nuff pull ups…..Beenie Man also got a good amount of stage time he came on at about 6:30 ish and finished close to 7…..he brought his little son on stage to perform…..no mention at all of Da angel …..Anyway the man of the moment came on at a little after 7 releasing 3 doves (well birds, don’t know if they were doves) dressed in white, down to the white timberland shoes……..He voice sounds just like his album but he was not much of an entertainer….kinda stiff on stage (him caan wine, he tried a little thing but it did stiff)….I guess it is all kinda new though cause most of his songs were done while he was in prison so him not so used to the stage performing thing yet……There was a guy who came on with him though……weird looking fellow, in a long robe, holding a piece of hair and a big nose ring…uhm (obeahman perhaps) will have to put up a pic of him so you can see what i am talking about….he was freaking out my friend! Anyway show finished at about 8…i got back to the hotel at about 9 and did not sleep until 8:30 last night…..Man..i am getting too old for this night life … Read today that Jigsy King got arrested and so he should, he was very graphic and cussing the police and would not come off the stage when he was supposed to…do the artist think those things are cute??? The stadium was not all that packed, but then t would take a good crowd to fill that place, plus it was a holiday weekend with a lot of other stuff going on and also it was plenty rains in the days before the event……. Anyway will add the link to the Atlanta report as well as some pictures and hopefully some videos later……In the meantime my brother has set up a company to do live video streaming (dont really know all the full details yet) but he and his crew was there working too…you can get more info from the website is hardcorereggae.com
