I believe that, and can safely say, as Caribbean people we need more material of this nature and quality. It is refreshing. I’m not just reference the lyrical content but also the visual content. The video in itself returns some form of respectability to our women and the song follows on the heels of other great songs such as “Virtuous woman”. It is also my belief that musicians and song writers alike posses the most powerful gift bestowed upon the more fortunate of us. Taurus Riley clearly posses such a gift.

I love this song so much. I heard it many times and generally nodded along to it. But then I went on holiday with some friends to Barbados and every club in St. Lawrence Gap played it. This has now become my personal anthem to remind me of the wonderful magical holiday I had. My aunt got me hooked on this song last year when she had me add it to her Myspace page. That was the first time I heard it.

Taurus Riley is a truly inspiring artist, I cannot get enough of his music.
Though I am upset that the ‘She’s Royal Tour’ gig held in Birmingham (UK) at The Q Club on Sat 12 July 08 was a complete rip off.
Taurus performed great, I cannot fault him. The music throughout the night was da bomb.
BUT I am sick of consceintious artists like Taurus playing at mainstraem venues where the beer is over priced (four pounds for a can of Red Stripe?!?) after we already forked out 32 pounds for a ticket. The security was over the top and everyone just looked kinda vexed. I believe that this was mainly due the rip off prices. I seen loads of arguments by people after already paying quite a healthy sum for their tickets, arguing with contempteous bar staff about their prices.
This has gotta stop. Its ALWAYS like this when its a BLACK artist that is playing to a predominantly BLACK audience. The promoters and venue managers thinks its ok to notch up their prices! But do we say or do anything? No, we just give dem our money! When you have a truly conscious artist like Taurus playing at mainstream venues like this it depletes the meaning of his songs. Its not good.
That explains then why some of da women at this gig couldnt be more ‘Royal’ instead of going on like materialistic ho’s!

I absolutely love this song! We need more songs like this. I first heard this song in Jamaica in 07 and fell in love instatntly. I had to find out who the artist was. Taurus’s voice makes it even better. I also loved the video. It’s refreshing to see natural beauties and not the reqular half naked “video chicks” shaking their bootys. Love you Taurus for that.
